Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions

Agreed Terms & Conditions When Joining Our Programme:

The undersigned student and parent/guardian agree to the following terms and conditions for the student’s participation in IBWISE:

1. Student’s Commitment

The student must and here agrees to:

  • Act in a courteous, considerate and responsible manner with respect to fellow students, IBWISE staff and instructors, and campus staff.
  • Attend punctually all classes in which he or she is enrolled.
  • Return to campus and sign in personally with the On-Duty Staff Member by 22.30 hrs each night.
  • Remain in the dorm between 22.30 hrs and 07.00 hrs.
  • Not enter the rooms of students of the opposite gender.
  • Not consume alcohol, tobacco, or non-prescribed drugs on the IBWISE campus.
  • Behave in a responsible manner and comply with Austrian law at all times.
  • Abstain from the use of Lime or other for-hire electric scooters and e-bikes, which are extremely dangerous and increase risk of injury or death, for the duration of camp.
  • Comply with the reasonable requests and direction of the IBWISE staff.

2. Breach of Student’s Commitment

Any breach of the above conditions will be reported at the earliest possible convenience to the parent/guardian and may lead to the student’s dismissal from the course and an early return home. In such circumstances, there will be no refund of fees and the parent/guardian will be liable for all expenses incurred with respect to changed travel and related accommodations.

3. Damage, Loss or Injury

Parents/guardians are liable for any damage, loss or injury caused by their child/student. In addition, IBWISE is not responsible or liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered by a student, whether caused by the student or a third party (including another student).

4. Insurance

Students must have full travel insurance coverage for the entire duration of their travel and participation at the IBWISE Camp, including full medical, accident and potential liability to third parties insurance. The student must bring proof of such insurance (policy) with them to the course.

IBWISE also strongly advises students to purchase insurance that would cover:

  • damage or loss of personal belongings
  • withdrawal after final payment due date

5. Refunds

Fees will not be refunded after the final payment due date. Prior to this date, students may withdraw and fees will be returned minus the deposit/administration fee of € 400. All refunds will be made by bank electronic transfer, in Euros. Any charges incurred by the bank will have to be carried by the recipient.

What about coronavirus or other unforeseeable catastrophes? In light of our experiences with the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on IBWISE and our students since 2020, naturally it makes sense to address what will happen if, in the end, we cannot operate IBWISE as an on-campus programme due to circumstances beyond our control, such as continued or new virus-related difficulties that introduce travel complications for too many of our students. If circumstances cause IBWISE to conclude it should cancel an on-campus programme, we will seek to transition to our exceptional online IB revision programme with our same excellent instructors and video-conferencing, assuming there is sufficient interest in the online option. In this case any monies paid toward accommodation and meals will be reimbursed to the customer. Under these circumstances, if there are students who decline to participate in the online option, no refund other than the monies paid toward accommodation and meals will be made. In addition, were there to be insufficient interest in the online programme such that IBWISE is obliged to cancel the programme altogether, we will return all monies paid except the 400€ deposit fee. Should for any reason the May or November IB exams be cancelled by the IBO and the IB revision courses are no longer needed by the client, we will return all monies except the 400€ deposit fee.

6. Permission To Use Photographs

Photos and videos may be taken during our programme, which may be used on our website, as well as in our social and printed media.

7. Medical Treatment

In the event that a student requires immediate medical treatment, the parent/guardian hereby grants permission for medical treatment to be provided to their son/daughter if recommended by a qualified medical practitioner.

8. Under-Enrolled Classes

IBWISE reserves the right to cancel classes with less than three registered students. Parents and students will be informed as early as possible should any of their registered classes run this risk. In such a case, students will have the option to enroll for one-on-one tutoring at an additional charge, choose another class or receive full refund.

9. Off-Campus Permission

Applies to Spring Course Students:

IBWISE students are given opportunities to leave campus and explore Vienna during the day and in the evening. By signing this agreement, the parent/guardian grants permission for his/her child to leave the IBWISE campus during the day and evening. Students are responsible for themselves when off-campus and responsible for returning to campus and registering with the staff on duty by 22.30 hrs each evening.

Applies to Summer Course Students only:

IBWISE students are given opportunities to leave campus and explore Vienna during the day and in the evening. By signing this agreement, the parent/guardian grants permission for his/her child to leave the IBWISE campus during the day and evening. Students are responsible for themselves when off-campus and responsible for returning to campus and registering with the on-duty staff by 22.30 hrs each evening.

For summer boarding students only: Every fourth day is a rest day. If the parent/guardian ticks the following box, they grant their child permission to stay out after 22.30 hrs the night before the rest day. Please note, that in this case, students must return to campus no later than 23:30 hrs.
